I am so happy that i decided to trek Mulanje during my trip in Malawi. As i was not prepared and am not fit, so did 2 nights and 3 days, stayed in Chambe and Lichinya huts. Going up through Skyline and going down through tea plantation. The landscape is beautiful and diversed. Experiencing life of people those dependant in forest and talked with friendly guards in the huts. It was cold during night, then i had to ask for blankets to add up with my thin sleeping bag. I found Davie (0882395708, [email protected]) contact here and he was so helpful, acted as my guide, porter, cook. I visited his home near the forest gate, left some of my stuff before the trek, had lunch with his lovely family and his fellow guide Chitsanzo (0885444735)

My husband and I did three game drives and one boat trip on the river. We are interested in all the wildlife so really appreciated our guides' expertise with birds as well as mammals. The drivers/guides and security personnel were wonderful, friendly and definitely interested in ensuring we had a great experience. What you do is up to you. You can do as much, or as little, as you want. And, you can combine a walk with a safari. There are so many animals to see here.

This art gallery/souvenir shop has a large variety of offerings. There are the usual trinkets (although better quality) as well as paintings and other interesting items. Well worth a stop.

Most probably the most important building in Malawi, the missionary church in Blantyre where it all began... Built without a plan, still standing today and very impressive I would suggest a tour of the church an the surrounding missionary complex!

It boasts a wide collection of books, journals, photographs about Africa in general with a special interest to Malawi. The library focuses on maintaining the history and heritage of Malawi.Below the library is a national art gallery which features artworks of great artists in Malawi.

Mandala House is home to the Society's Library. Here it is possible to go back centuries to the beginning of written history of Malawi. My sister liked it so much that she went back later and spent a full day there, talking with the docents/staff members.

The Way of the Cross is a beautiful place, obviously designed and made with love. My friends and I are not Christians but we were touched by the atmosphere. The walk is not too hard and rewards you with beautiful views from beginning to end. The path is easy to follow once you are on it.
To find the road up to the starting point, look out for the bright yellow signs on the road after St James Chilomoni.

The King African Rifles Monument is a sobering insight into the contributions of British colonies to global efforts of the empire. The names of hundreds of Malawian soldiers killed in WW I are engraved in the plaques positioned around the monument. Worth a short stop!
