This park is along a twenty mile stretch of the South Yuba river. So many beautiful spots, trails, beaches! There's truly something for everyone including wheelchair access on some of the trails. I looked to a ranger for advice on where to go. So far I've been to the Buttermilk Bend trail at Bridgeport which was 1 mile in and very easy with wheelchair access. Then we went down a steep bank (you must be somewhat fit) to the river and had a spot to ourselves for the whole weekday afternoon. AWESOME! The next adventure was to Hwy 49 crossing where you park (I got lucky and got a spot in front) and have several options for trails and river access. We decided to go straight under the 49 to the river. First there was a steep rocky hike down to the river (I saw the elderly and overweight people struggle) there were lots of people in the water but it was like a an amusement park with natural rock slides boulder caves natural whirlpools and great river rock hikes. there were no sandy beaches. Don't forget river shoes!

I have made hundreds of these heirloom wood toys over the years and have never sold one. They have been given to family and friends upon the birth of their children, donated to charitable organizations for fund raisers and shared with individuals who shared my passion for the art. Now I want to share the joy of helping guests build their own treasure from scratch.
