The spa was wonderful. The facilities were very clean, employees were plentiful and very focused on taking care of guests. My body treatments were just what I needed after being cooped up at home. I had a body scrub combined with rich oils to rehydrate and then a massage relax and let it all soak in. My therapist, Michael, tailored the entire session to my needs making it a very custom experience.

The Franciscan Renewal Center (also known as “The Casa”) is a spiritual oasis for renewal, rest, and prayer. We provide space for meetings, overnight stays, private and directed retreats, adult education programs, conference rooms for nonprofit groups, and licensed behavioral health counseling. The Casa is a quick 20-minute drive from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Nestled between majestic Camelback and Mummy Mountains, it’s located on 25 acres of beautiful, quiet desert landscape in Scottsdale, Arizona. The facilities include over 13,000 square feet of flexible, technologically supported meeting and conference rooms as well as 70 double occupancy rooms, 8 single occupancy rooms, and 4 handicap accessible rooms for overnight stays. Our guest rooms are designed without phones or TVs in order to maximize time for quiet, peaceful reflection and renewal. The dining room, which seats up to 150 to 175 guests, can provide buffet style meals for your breakfast, lunch, and dinners so you can better focus on your meeting or retreat as well. The Casa is a non-profit and active religious community of the Order of Friars Minor — a worldwide Franciscan family that follows in the footsteps of Saints Francis and Clare of Assisi. Its base is the Franciscan Province of Saint Barbara, in Oakland, California which works with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix. The Conventual Church of Our Lady of the Angels on the property offers daily and Sunday masses and a vibrant family catechesis program. Some of the groups that use our facilities include over 20 outreach ministries that give aid to the poor or vulnerable and empower individuals to improve their circumstances.

On the NE corner of Lincoln and Tatum sits a small park dedicated to our esteemed late Senator Barry Goldwater. There is an excellent collection of Boojum cacti. It is worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood. The entrance is off Tatum on North side.
