Mto Wa Mbu Cultural Tourism Enterprises

We are community based tour programme located in Mto Wa Mbu; a small town with cultural diversity of over 120 ethnic groups. With us you will be able to experience different cultural activities from different cultures such as Chagga people with their banana beer, and so forth.

The Cultural Tourism Programme was a perfect way to see the real Mto wa Mbu, up close and personal. Yusuph our guide was a perfect ambassador and tour guide during my stay in this quaint agricultural town.
Yusuph was friendly and spoke perfect english. He was patient providing many details about the areas we visited. The farming areas were vast and Yusuph provided information on the history of the farms and pointed out the multitude of flora and fauna as we strolled by.
It's oleander...... :-)
The Banana Beer facility is a must see as well as the wood carving shop, but my favorite was visiting the artists that practice tinga-tinga and let you spend some time and paint with them. Lunch was amazing and authenticTanzanian cuisine.
While on safari I would highly recommend a stop over in Mto wa Mbu and spend a half day... or maybe longer... to taking this tour.
Asante Sana Yusuph and Mto wa Mbu Cultural Tourism Enterprises.

African Galleria

African Galleria is a professional gallery that deals in antiques, art, tribal art, Tanzanite and other gems, clothing, Maasai art, custom made jewelry (18k gold) and a lot more varieties of items, namely all assortment of carvings in Ebony, Rose wood, Mahogany, Teak in all sizes. Also a very good place to find beautiful Tanzanian souvenirs to bring home.

Our tour guide took us here as we needed to buy souvenirs. I have since learned that it was cheaper to buy my souvenirs at the Kili airport! African Galleria has a huge selection of jewelry, coffee, drums, bowls, textiles etc. I just wished I knew how to bargain better. $68 USD later, I do feel ripped off but I guess that is all part of the experience.

Parc National du Lac Manyara

The elephants were almost right at the road edge. They were very busy ripping branches off trees to eat. They are quite destructive. Hippos were active in their pond and it was interesting to see all the other animals drinking the water from the pond. Fortunately none of the hippos took offense from the others drinking. Lots of birds in the marshes, but they certainly did not like to pose for pictures. Lots of babies at the time of year we went.

African Wonderland Safaris

Reviewed By mjfmail2016 - Califon, New Jersey

We visited Northern Tanzania for the second time in June and we wanted to thank Kevin and Osman at African Wonderland Safaris for the vacation, no... the adventure of a lifetime! Kevin was quick to answer my questions and was well organized. We stopped over in in Mto wa Mbu at Twiga Lodge & Campsites and the staff was friendly and the lodge was clean and comfortable. Mto wa Mbu is a mecca for culture and a must see while on Safari, and we were located close enough to experience a lot in a short period of time.
What a thrill...we saw more wildlife on the game drives than we ever expected! Yep, BIG 5.

Our guide Osman handled every little detail. We would start each day reviewing our itinerary and he was open minded to any changes. Osman is very knowledgeable of the wildlife, the land, and the culture that can be experienced in Tanzania and took the time to educate us. He is the real deal when it comes to safari guides.
We can't thank the two of you and your staff enough for such a great holiday... Asante Sana!
