Levin Adventure Park

Reviewed By SLKrivan - New Zealand

We visited on a beautiful sunny day and were impressed with the range of different play activities for different age groups. Our baby has just turned 1 and isn't quite mobile yet so we helped him try out the swings, rockers and spinning block wall. There's also a slide and a seesaw, plus other assorted activities that he's not quite old enough so manage but I'm sure will enjoy if we have the chance to visit again. There were also kids of all ages playing on the other equipment and it was great to see the park being so well-utilised! Conveniently located in the centre of town and with lots of trees that make for some nice shady areas for picnics or caregivers who are supervising younger kids.

Kohitere Trig

Reviewed By CarolKate39 - Levin, New Zealand

There are several different ways to climb to the Trig, elevation just over 300 meters. .
Most do it from the western side and take the direct track, more or less straight up through the pine trees, many on a daily basis and multiple times per day. I prefer the less strenuous zig-zag route that is also a mountain bike route.
The best way, I think, is to go from the eastern side, not far past Makahika. It is a longer route (and the are 3 different routes) and has more variety of scenery. You can also walk along the top and there are several look out spots.
The view at the top, which ever way you go, is wonderful, especially on a fine day.

Yard Art

Reviewed By Aron P - Melbourne, Australia

Located on the right, almost 1km out of Levin heading north, you will see the sign for YardArt. They have a large collection of outdoor and indoor ornaments, which range from bird baths, Asian & South American statues, animal features, gnomes, furniture, pots & planters, wall plaques, water features, edging, tree rings & pavers... and lots more.
I've purchased a number of smaller ornaments on my travels past including a fish hook statue for my balcony, gnomes and a tui bird. They've kindly wrapped each item carefully so I could bring them back to Australia in one piece.
You can walk around and look at the larger displays outside and purchase on the spot or I believe they can be made to order and have it delivered. There is a small shop which has a lot of the smaller ornaments.
The owners were lovely and offered a mini tour of how they make the ornaments on one of my visits. They have plenty to look at outside even including a few friendly farm animals for the kids. There is also plenty of parking.
So, if you're passing through Levin, it's well worth a stop. Great for birthday or Christmas gifts and even a little something for yourself. I'll definitely be back on my next trip past... as there's still plenty of space on my balcony!

Lake Horowhenua

Reviewed By Renate S - Levin, New Zealand

This is a lovely place for contemplation while sitting in the car watching a spectacular sunset, or just walking around and looking over the water. There are heaps of water fowl there to watch chasing each other or just socialising, accompanied by the sound of their chatting and quaking.

I always try to persuade the driver to take a short detour across the railway lines as we enter Levin from the South. Levana factory shop offers all sorts of tempting treats for me, especially as winter approaches. I sew for charity and find the ladies here always very helpful. I always go away smiling!
