Maker's Mark

Watch a sour mash ferment in giant cypresswood vats on its way to becoming that heavenly Kentucky bourbon at this distillery.

This is a beautiful campus WAY out in nowhere Kentucky. You really get the historic, non-corporate vibe at this distillery (even though their production is quite corporate).

We’re from Wisconsin, so alcohol isn’t a taboo thing like other states. I brought my 10 year old girls along and they appreciated the process and science behind Maker’s Mark. I figure there are chemical engineers, microbiologists, artists, marketers, accountants, etc on staff. It’s good to show them all the different jobs out there.

I highly recommend the tour.

Very glad we stopped here on our vacation. The tour/tastings were free. Our tour guide (Tom) was very entertaining, informative, and kind. He gave lots of history about the distillery and family, you would not receive at any other distillery in the area. Definitely worth the stop, and one of the better distilleries in the area in my opinion.

My sister and I went on a Bourbon / Whiskey <Whisky> tour of our own, after leaving Markers Mark Distillery, Siri & GPS were completely down, late on a Sunday afternoon, completely lost, we stopped into WhiteMoon Winery - Closed but the wine master Alex welcomed us in, she is such a gem, My sister and I enjoyed a flight of wine, stayed probably more then an hour while we shared out "lost" experience , Alex drew us a map to head on down to our next destination in Gaitlinburg TN. What a great find off the beaten path - well worth it. When I head to KY & TN again, I will certainly stop in to see Alex an how her winery. Thank you so much for your time - terri

The outside appearance doesn't project what is inside. The show's band is excellent with a good variety of tastes. The blend works well. At $10, it is a value. The concessions are neat -- you can even buy aspirin or antacids if needed... Also the hours are good -- it's over at 10PM which means you won't have any problem being too tired to make church the next morning.
