My husband and I stayed in the Wilson Lake Inn for one night in early March 2017. We arrived at 5:30 pm, and the staff was very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Our room was modest with a tub and toilet in the bathroom and the sink in the main room. There were a table and two chairs in the room on which to set up our laptops to do some work in the evening. Everything was very clean, and the two queen size beds were very comfortable. The room temperature was adjustable. We both slept well. Breakfast in the foyer of the office was thoughtfully prepared with several choices: bagels and cream cheese, toast and butter, muffins, yogurt, oatmeal, orange juice, bananas, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and milk. No eggs, meat or pancakes, but we were well fed without those.
Our room had a partial view of the lake, which was beautiful. The grounds were well manicured with the promise of lovely perennial gardens in the growing season! It seemed to be a very well run, neat and tidy place. A pride of ownership was evident. We will definitely stay at the Wilson Lake Inn again, if we are in that area. Many thanks to the owners and staff for taking such good care of us!

Titcomb Mountain is a small mountain located in Farmington, Maine. Inexpensive lift tickets compared to the big mountain skiing in Maine. No separate locker rooms for males & females. Just a handful of storage cubbys, and a few wooden lockers. You have to change in the bathrooms. There are no chair lifts at this mountain. 2- T Bars only. Good for beginners and intermediate skiers, but not a lot to offer the expert skier. The staff was friendly. However, the mountain was primarily catered to children when I visited. Unfortunately, that was unpleasant, due to the invasive, rude, & manerless demeanor from a lot of the children in attendance. Therefore, I recommend attending when children are in school. Night skiing is a plus here!

Relatively new brewery in a state where micro-brewing is growing very rapidly. From the beginning they offer distinctive, lively brews. Tumbledown brews one of the only IPAs I truly enjoy - Devil's Hopyard...the hoppy "bite" is connected beautifully to the body of the beer, unlike so many IPA offerings that showcase the hops but forget the overall experience...you don't have to work hard to enjoy this one! The other standout is a Coffee Porter that is not on the web site but was poured at the brewery when we visited today...another outstanding blending of flavors. And their Tumbledown Red is a go to any time! If you appreciate beer, stop here!

Lillian Nordica, from Farmington, Maine, became one of the first and greatest divas of American opera. She had a spectacularly successful career, including gifts from royalty and titans of industry and commerce, and she had a disastrous personal life. She died a strange death in Java in her 50s. She sang with Caruso.
The museum is in the house where she was born. It is chock-full of artifacts, including original and reproduction costumes and music. The museum manager is enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and she has fascinating stories of this megastar from over a century ago. Be sure to ask about the diamond tiara from her fans at the Metropolitan opera, and her third husband's thoughts on that item.
This is a good visit on your way to or from Rangeley Lake, Maine.

What a surprise this charming little shop is! I was intrigued by the "Herbal Apothecary" component but found it to be so much more! They are a full fledged healing arts center offering yoga classes and Qigong with acupuncture and massage coming soon. The owner who was behind the counter was very friendly and engaging and extremely knowledgeable about the herbs and teas. I am anxious for the psychic readings to begin next week. I am certain to be a regular customer!

We took the kids in for Pizza one afternoon. We've been before and the food is good. We were surprised to find the smell and smoke that smacked us in the face when we entered. Not exactly what we expected at lunchtime...I'd suggest you have an adult enter first. My husband and I have gone at night and the place is packed. The drinks are good and service is fairly quick. There are fights but we usually swing by on a night out. If you know what to expect it's fine
