Depew is a village in Erie County, New York, United States. The population was 15,303 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The village is named for Chauncey Mitchell Depew (1892), the president of the New York Central Railroad and later a US senator (1899-1911) who was one of the original investors who bought the land for the village which was incorporated in 1894.

08/10/20 Our continued daily walking hike through this Covid-19 pandemic period took us to a great walking park in Cheektowaga, NY. It is on the Northeast side of Stiglmeier Park. It was on of my favorite hiking areas that we have visited, as you walk though an old growth forest with numerous ponds, some filled with massive growths of water lilies that would have made Monet proud to paint. Even though it was a hot day, being under the forest canopy kept us cool, with an occasional breeze. Plenty of well marked and maintained trails. If you are lucky, there is also some wildlife to see. We were lucky to see a beautiful Buck! Great place to walk !
