It was late, so I could not enter the church. Like many older buildings in Chieri, the church is in pefect state. There is a numbered route in the city that will lead you to all the monuments. Signs give you a proper explanantion. Info is also available in English and French.

Strolling around in Chieri we discovered this place near the Piazza Mazzini and we stopped by for an aperitif.
- Very Professional owner who really knows what he is talking about with the reason of WHY.

La via centrale di Chieri, in gran parte pedonale e ricca di negozi e bar, è abbellita da questo Arco Trionfale ; poderose colonne ai lati ed orologio nel muro alto centrale, con lanterna in punta ; è testimone della storia importante di questa città, fin dai tempi più lontani.

Una settimana fa abbiamo festeggiato il compleanno del nostro nipotino alla Cascina Matiné, che si trova nei pressi di Chieri a 15 km. da Torino.
Il comprensorio è molto bello, in aperta campagna. La domenica in cui siamo stati hanno inaugurato anche i "gonfiabili" dove i bimbi entrano, esplorano giocano e si divertono come pazzi.
Il parcheggio è molto ampio, poi c'è un vasto spazio di terreno dove le famiglie possono sistemarsi come vogliono mentre i bimbi si divertono. Ci sono a disposizione cavalli, pony e asinelli con la possibilità per i bimbi di cavalcarli, naturalmente accompagnati da un addetto. Se si organizzano feste private, riservano un'area all'ombra, mettendo a disposizione (a pagamento) tavoli, sedie e un frigorifero per ricoverare bevande, panini, torta e tutti i bimbi di quella festa hanno libero accesso ai divertimenti. L'organizzazione non ha servizio bar, salvo distribuire un po' d'acqua nelle giornate particolarmente calde. È una bella esperienza soprattutto per i piccini. In una bella giornata è il massimo.

We walked up a small hill to visit the church and admire the view. Sadly the church was closed but it was a beautiful autumn day with the Sun shining and we had a terrific view of the surrounding towns.

Usciti dal Museo Egizio e dopo la visita al Palazzo Carignano abbiamo trovato aperta questa enorme chiesa, pare la più grande di Torino. Lunghissima navata (70 metri) la volta a botte con sette finestroni a forma di conchiglia, lateralmente 6 cappelle con colonne in onice rosso. Siamo stati informati che in occasione della Pasqua si può ammirare un enorme tappetto (100 metri) e una pala intarsiata in madre perla e tartaruga, mentre nel periodo natalizio un bellissimo presepe del 700. Maestosa e bellissima
