Borgo Medievale di Ceglie Messapica

Reviewed By TF_Laszlo - Brindisi, Italy

Ceglie is a wonderful place, not so much touched by tourism, like Ostuni in the neighbourhood, but with the same beauty of a puglian hill village. Wonderful old centre, white houses, narrow streets, which are full with life, as locals are living in it, and not tourists. Worth to see.

Castello Ducale

Reviewed By Walking_Scot - Edinburgh, Scotland

It's a bit of a climb up through the old town to the castle but the trip is worth it for the Norman tower alone. The whole complex has obviously seen better days but it still gives the impression of strength and power, as well as terrific views over the landscape. Beware the poor man who hovers at the bottom of the lovely stone staircase and presents himself as your guide for the sum of €1 each. He is not authorised and the real guide upstairs gives you an enthusiastic and informative tour in broken English (a bit of Italian helps).

I have been to the masseria itself, and also to their shop in Ceglie Messapica, which is just near San Rocco Church. The cheeses are really good, and several of the local restaurants get their dairy products from Fragnite.

Grotte di Montevicoli

Reviewed By Giuseppe P - Rio de Janeiro, RJ

the grotte are neither big nor glamorous as the one of Castellana, the part opened to the public is pretty small in comparison. But these caves are very well organized and mantained, and the service provided by the local guide has been exellent, the grotte were in fact closed but after a call the guide has come and opened them just for us! So the 4 stars are for this excellent service!

Chiesa di Sant'Anna

Reviewed By Don Giorgio M - Céglie Messápica, Puglia, Italy

This lovely little church sits over the original 900 year old church building which can be seen through glass panels in the floor.
Wonderful views over the valley from the area at the rear of the church.
The church is used by the local English speaking community each Sunday for mass in English to which everyone is welcome.
