We rented a 4 person UTV for 8 hours and it was amazing. The trails were all marked clearly and kept up with so everything felt reasonably safe. The gentleman who helped us was so sweet and knowledgeable. He helped us all get our helmets on so we would know they were on correctly. He also gave us a map and marked things to make it easy for us, since we were unfamiliar with the area. He also assured us that they clean the helmets in between each use. The whole experience was wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone!

We visited this wonderful local museum today on a Tuesday when there is free admission. We were enthusiastically greeted at the front door reception desk by Donna, a wonderful local artisan painter who told us all about the newish environmentally friendly facility that was paid for by local private donations. While at the reception desk with Donna, we also were cheerfully greeted by Deb Nelson, the Museum Director. Needless to say, our initial perception of the museum was greatly enhanced by the personal engagement from the staff. The exhibits in museum themselves were extremely interesting and informative. We were touched by the effort to make all the exhibits extremely interactive and interesting for people of all ages, especially children. For example, there is a room where you can touch and feel pelts from several animals that are resident in the northern Wisconsin area including wolf, coyote, foxes, skunks and many others. We thought the red fox pelt was definitely the softest. You should feel it for yourself! They also have an amazing environmentally controlled taxidermy room with the most "splendiforous" array of birds and mammals from the north woods. We were simply blown away looking through the window into the room at all the specimens sitting there side-by-side and wondered aloud, what happens in that room at midnight when everyone from the museum is gone and they all come alive? Hahahahaha! If you visit the Cable, WI area, be sure to stop and visit here. One other important thing, the Cable Natural History Museum also has a "Natural Play Area" park for children and adults that is located in a beautiful wooded area that is only several blocks from the museum. At the behest of Donna, we visited the play area park and were extremely impressed how perfect and interactive it is for both children and adults. For example, you can read a book in the "Salamander Room" or climb in a tree house or hike 1 mile of beautiful wooded trails or even better yet, get caught up in a spider web! Both of us are seniors and honestly, we had the best time at one of the numerous play areas in the park where you can walk tight rope on a thick cable that is suspended only 6 inches above the ground. Even at our advanced ages both of us were able to walk that cable from end to end and we laughed so hard, like little children as we did! It was so fun! In addition, this interactive park has many other wonderful attractions that we haven't even mentioned. If you have children with you while you are in the area, visiting this interactive play park is an absolute MUST!
