We visited Vendee en Miniature on the one rainy afternoon of our visit to the Vendee region. It was the perfect family activity for such weather. The miniature village is a surprisingly large and atmospheric exhibition and is exquisitely designed. The couple who designed and made it took almost fifteen years to complete it and the results of their work are stunning. The level of detail in the buildings, accessories, landscapes and characters is to be admired. We thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend a visit here.

For many years this beach was perfect for adults and kids. Soft silver sand, safe paddling & swimming,a small island to explore at low tide, plenty of cycle parking on the large paved Terrace, car parking five minutes walk, a sailing school for interest, a good beach front café and finally a large landscaped sea water swimming lake just at the back of the dunes.
Over the years it has got more and more crowded, the café more and more busy and this year's storms have left the beach not so good with less sand. To cap it all they have drained the lake in preparation for building a marina which will totally ruin this beauty spot on the Vendee cycle way. Even as a sailor myself I think this is vandalism.

A fabulous "hole in the wall" bar, that we discovered last year after the market in Bretignolles, by accident. You wouldn't know it from the road, because the signage is a bit lost amongst the local signs for places right in that dense area for restaurants, which are seasonal. But you should not miss this gem of a place! Situated in a place with an unforgettable view over the sea (a bit up on a cliff), decorated with great Surfing and other artifacts, with great music playing in the background, they feature not only great views but also a varied selection of cocktails and nibbles, always made with the freshest ingredients, and often surprising and unusual!! And that's just on the inside... They also have great live music during the summer months, and the Terrace features an unbelievably laid-back vibe with stacked pallets with big, soft cushions on them outside, feet in the sand, and just a fabulous environment.
The owners are fabulous, you should always ask for the "daily aperitif/munchie". I think they're closed during the winter months. But, they have another place "Theo Spot" in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie, a few miles up the road that's open all-year. A singular place, a place not to miss.

Très humide en raison des ruissellements d'eau venant des terres...les serviettes de bain sont donc humides....Prévois des chaises pliantes.....par contre il y "une mer intérieure" où l'eau est très bonne et qui fait le bonheur des enfants

Located just near the atlantic ocean, our ranch propose you to riding horse and discover a wonderful landscape with dunes, rock cost and beach where horses walk on the sea... I was riding horse in the beach, in perfect landscape, walking in the water of ocean... very nice staff and cute horses, may I come back ASAP :)
