Although the "whitewatering" wasn't very powerful, it was fun. We arranged the tour in Boquete and they took us out to the river. (It was a long trip because the river they usually use was not high enough.) All personnel spoke good English. Safety instructions were given and all of us were provided with a helmet, life vest and paddle. Each boat had a guide who knew the river well. Lunch was sandwiches on a stop on the river. Beer and drinks were provided at the end

This is a beautiful area. If you have the chance, I recommend hiking up here. We started here and hiked the Quetzal Trail to Boquete. It is worth getting a guide just for the knowledge of the land that they will have. We booked through Hello Travel Panama. Alejandro was great, as was his assistant Tom! The scenery is beautiful. Lots of flowers, Waterfalls, and incredible views. It is a cloud forest so it can be misty or rainy. Luckily for us it was mostly sunny!

The Lost Waterfalls is a moderate to difficult hike through the cloudforest in western Panama to three fabulous Waterfalls. The hike can take from one to three hours round trip depending on how many Waterfalls you want to see. If you are lucky you may spot sloths, monkeys, quetzals or any number of the fascinating wildlife living in the cloudforest.

Four of us in our early to mid 60s who walk and hike a lot tackled this walk to see 3 Waterfalls. It was a stoney, muddy and elevation gaining walk to three Waterfalls. The first was pretty and the 2nd bigger with a small pool at the bottom but nothing worth the muddy walk. The road there was pretty but very narrow and windy and it wasn’t easy to find the falls. I wouldn’t go back.

Remarkable building for such a small town. Square blocks with glass walls around an open staircase with a glass pyramid shaped roof. Quite modern, however there is a traditional tiled cover over the lobby area. Free internet and there is a small café inside.

Went there to take some people that wanted to explore the trail, and it was just amazing, they were enchanted with all the nature that this trail offered. We were lucky we saw some howler monkeys even though it was raining. I totally recomend this trail but the best way to do it is coming down from Cerro Punta all the way to Boquete.

Cool spot with fair prices and good beers. They offer samplers for $5 if you want to try some beers or ciders before buying a pint. Service is friendly. They have an open tap for $25. They also serve wine and a few options of whisky. My favourite beer was La Coima.

The easiest way to reach the entrance to the walk on public transport is to board a minibus shuttle in the area around supermarket Bruna, one block north of the park. The same bus also goes to the three cascades walk (lost waterfalls) a couple of kilometres further on. Cost of the shuttle is $2 ($2.50 for the three cascades) and they run approximately every hour. We were advised the last shuttle back is 5pm, the journey takes around 40 minutes.
Entrance to the walk is a few hundred metres from where the bus drops you off, cost is $3 pp, last entry is marked on the gate as 3pm, we exited the gate around 4pm, there was no problem in getting out. Note there are no toilet facilities here.
The walk itself takes a minimum of 1 hour 15minutes each way, we took quite a bit longer as there was good birdwatching particularly in the early part of the walk. The walk itself is not too difficult, quite gentle elevations in the main (you are walking through a valley) although there are a couple of rivers to cross by walking across logs with a guide rail. The landscape is mainly secondary forest but good variety of vegetation, flora and fauna and some good views up the mountain. Didn't see any mammals but a reasonable variety of birds were seen on the walk. The waterfall at the end of the walk not worth the effort on its own.
We completed both the pipeline walk and the three Waterfalls. We thought that the pipeline walk was better for birds, but the cascades walk had better scenery although here the terrain was more difficult.
