Stopped here while passing through Independence, Missouri. Found the collection of documents and objects from the life of President Truman to be truly outstanding, giving great insights into every phase of his life. His tomb is also on site in the building's courtyard. Highly recommend spending a couple hours here for anyone interested in American history.

The home is beautifully decorated for Christmas, and the home's working piano and organ were heard playing as we toured the home. Ben was a wonderful tour guide, especially for the children in the group, and answered all our questions with equal enthusiasm.

The historical sites. The square is looking good much better than the run down look it previously had going on. There is a lot of history here and needs preserved.

The Silverstein Eye Centers Arena is a mid-size arena located just 20 minutes from downtown Kansas City. The venue opened in 2009 and has since become a premier destination for live entertainment and sports. The arena is currently home to two professional sports teams. The Missouri Mavericks, members of the ECHL and Kansas City's only pro hockey club. Also the Missouri Comets, members of the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) and Kansas City's only pro indoor soccer club. We attended a Mavericks hockey game over the weekend. The venue is clean and easy to find your way around. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There are family restrooms near every main restroom which is helpful when attending an event with small children. I would recommend this venue. The parking was free and very easy to get in and out of as well.

This is such a great place to visit.Our tour guide was very friendly and full of great stories.The home is so beautiful and you can feel the history inside the home.No photos are allowed inside the home.The tour is free and is short maybe an hour.Its a great tour.There is also a house across the street where you can watch real footage of the Truman's inside the home along with other information about President Truman.We recommend.

Little Blue Trace Trail in Independence is an awesome trail for riding a bike. The trail is 15.6 miles long running mostly north-south next to Little Blue River. A few miles of the south section (south of Hartman Heritage Center Trailhead, near Mile 10) are concrete paved, and the rest is hard-packed smooth gravel maintained very well. The trail traverses a variety of vegetation including shady forests, restorative prairie, and meadows. The trail basically follows the Little Blue River, and in fact at some it is very close to the river. Several rest benches and picnic tables are provided along the trail, almost every two miles. There are occasional historical markers of interest, also. Watch for water puddles and muck on the trail under wet conditions. Little Blue Trace Trail is a beautiful bike ride all the way through! It is also a great place birding.
