A historic estate and garden which features 47 acres of landscaped gardens, greenhouses, hiking trails, and tours of the mansion. We hold many events, including corporate rentals, weddings and parties, Garden Club events, children's events, and community events such as Pumpkin Glow and Christmas at Kingwood.

We toured the gardens and the estate on a Saturday morning right after opening. The gardens are immaculately kept and the mansion was interesting to see. We were there about two hours but could have easily stayed longer if we didn’t have tickets already for another attraction that afternoon. Well worth the visit and very affordable!

Really interesting and well maintained trails. Great for all levels of hiking. There were tons of old structure to find, bodies of water and landmarks to explore. Beware of dogs off leash though there were many and not all friendly.

The Blueberry Patch

We had appetizers, pizza, salad and a bottle of wine. Our server, Mel, did an outstanding job recommending cheeses for our cheese board- blueberry goat cheese was our favorite. The atmosphere was so lovely- fun wine signs, decorative lighting, live music, the smell of a wood fired pizza oven. It's a great place to see people, meet friends and enjoy local wine. Can't wait to go back and sit outside on the patio.

We popped in to grab a treat and ended up buying quite a bit! BBQ sauce, dried tart cherries, Chorizo, an Apple Fritter, a pc of coconut pineapple cake, a jar of queso and a few other goodies.

Mansfield Reformatory

We were in central Ohio for a wedding in December when we found ourselves near the reformatory and decided to check it out. Coming as history/architecture enthusiasts, we opted to skip the movie tours, and go self guided with one audio wand to share. It didn’t matter. There was a lot of signage in many sections. A few warnings, this place isn’t for everyone. The first room you see features a well used electric chair and other execution paraphernalia. The vastness off the cell blocks can be overwhelming. Also, the climate control is limited, so it felt like winter inside much of the building. Still, it was a beautiful building with a lot of history. And a bunch of cool surprises for movie buffs too. There weren’t many crowds, and the staff was friendly. Highly recommend for people looking for something a bit strange.
