Sf. Nicolae Church (Saint Nicholas)

Reviewed By Vladimiramirela - Mississauga, Canada

St. Nicholas is more than a church. It is an Orthodox Cathedral as well as a Museum Complex as it also represents the First Romanian School, taught in Romanian in times where schooling was regarded as a luxury and subjects were mostly presented in French, German or Latin. St. Nicholas is an amazingly beautiful monument in itself and while in Brasov, I highly recommend stopping for a visit.

Black Church (Biserica Neagra)

This 15th-century Gothic church got its name after the great fire in 1689 blackened its outer walls.

Everytime I come to Brașov, I visit this curch. The entrance fee is small and it's a nice experience for history buffs. They also offer guided tours.

Sinagoga Neologa

Reviewed By RangeR - Canada, null

Beautiful synagogue with a holocaust memorial right next to it, this was a lovely introduction to synagogues to me. There's a small fee to enter but it's well worth it to see the details of the inside decor. There are restrooms on the outside of the synagogue, on the opposite side of where the memorial is. Have to admit I'm not entirely sure about the opening hours as the synagogue seemed to be closed when we first arrived, then open a little bit later, and closed as soon as we left it.

Biserica Buna Vestire

Reviewed By Ulysses336 - Brasov, Romania

This Orthodox Church is situated on Nicolae Iorga street facing the Central Park of Brasov ; the people of Brasov are also naming it the "Cathedral" as it is the biggest Orthodox Church in the Old Town and has definitely the most beautiful inner wall paintings ! I was pleasantly impressed by the interior of this church and must admit that as a native of Brasov haven't been very often inside ,but it is worth visiting !
