Royal Perth Golf Club

Reviewed By xiemh - Point Cook, Australia

Royal Perth Golf Club is a fully private member's only club. While I was in WA, and stayed in Perth, and wanted to get a game in. I wasn't sure if I could get a tee time. So I looked up the website and found that if you are a member of a Golf club and have a Golf Australia Handicap, means you may be eligible to have permission to play a game. I called and spoke to the friendly and helpful staff and they helped do much to make it possible for me to join in the club competition. My experience was fantastic, the course was in great condition, the weather was unreal. The members made me feel very welcome and the company for the round of golf. I still check the photo's and try to remember how good the experience was. I highly recommend to check out our and plan to play a round. Highly recommend this golf course for all golfers . It is a bucket list . A little history of Royal Perth Golf Club. Royal Perth Golf Club, its current site in 1908. Royal Perth Golf Club is the oldest golf club in metropolitan Western Australia (WA) and was awarded its Royal Status in 1937. As seen in the pictures the course is always presented in immaculate condition all year round. Tough course with Kikuyu fairways and being an “old style” course, the greens in general are small in size making them elusive targets, especially when the sea breeze sweeps in off the adjacent Swan River. By modern standards Royal Perth is not long measuring just over 6000 metres. Despite this the golf course challenges the very best players with narrow fairways and renowned firm fast greens. Whilst there is little rough on the course there are near on 80 bunkers increasing the degree of difficulty.

As many grandparents will be aware - it's the school holidays when we all try to think up treats for our grandchildren. We took ours to the zoo yesterday and it proved to be a day we all enjoyed. The zoo was full of children having fun exploring the various areas with the African Savannah, the Asian Rainforest, the Nocturnal House and the penguins particular favourites. The playground was also very popular and after they had a ride on the heritage carousel we all left happy. The facilities at the zoo are constantly being upgraded and it's both an educational and fun place for a day out for the whole family.
