Basic, confortable, overpriced
Reviewed By Humberto DHotel is in Huancavelica's main square. Built and furnished in the 60-70's has not been modernized, with the exeption of bathrooms, cable and TV's. But rooms are ample, beds confortable , clean and warm. If traveling by car be advised there is room for parking only 4-6 vehicles. Also by 5.00 AM the surrounding churches ring their bells, it is impossible to keep sleeping with the noise. Overall hotel is overpriced for the services provided, but it is the only decent hotel in the region.

It grows on you
Reviewed By Andrea RI admit that at first this hotel turned me off. The reception staff were aloof. May I have a city plan? Go get it at the tourist office. The place was sterile as a hospital. But as I stayed for a few days, I appreciated the creature comforts: hot water in the sinks and the space heaters in the rooms were especially welcome after I had stayed in cold rooms in the sierra. The breakfast buffet was diverse and very ample. Location was fine. It took a bit of prodding, but at the end of my stay, the receptionist knocked herself out trying to find the best transportation for me to get to Ayacucho. Amenities: laundry service is available at the Hotel; they charge by the piece of clothing.

New hotel, has potential
Reviewed By BodhimindI wanted to give it 3.5 stars as it has many good features. This hotel, on the main pedestrian mall, is in the process if being fitted out. I was apprehensive that our room overlooking the street would be noisy, but it was surprisingly quiet. The room itself was very large, with a double bed and a single, carpeted floors and adequate lighting. However, it was c-o-l-d and there was no heating available. We sat around wrapped in doonas from the beds. Also, there were no hooks of any kind nor a closet in which to hang our clothes and only one luggage rack, so our belongings were strewn on the floor. The staff were friendly, though had to be reminded to clean the room. This hotel has potential, but check that there us no construction going on before you move in.
