Reviewed By Siri JThe hotel is really something special, very nice and the view is spectacular. For kayaking the area is perfect- we spent the weekend kayaking around in the archipelago, we will be back!! The restaurant was good, fish and meatmeny.

Authentic, charming and good quality guesthouse in the beautiful archipelago of the Lofoten & Vesteralen Isles in North Norway. At Skagakaia you live straight at the quai, in a traditional old dock house or "rorbu". Here at the quay, you can relax in a deck chair to the most beautiful ocean view, or maybe start your day with a refreshing morning dive or by testing your fishing luck right from your doorstep. Known for its good atmosphere and excellent food, - traditional and local - the restaurant at Skagakaia have both local and house guests. Sometimes we invite to small concerts, and some of the best moments have been when our gusts spontaneously have brought their violin or borrowed our guitar. The local surroundings offers many beautiful hiking routes. We have bicycles for hire and our rowing boats are free to use for our guests. As hostess at Skagakaia I am happy to share my grandparents' place with you, and maybe to show you around and tell you about all the nice places and things to do. We have no TV, but WIFI is free.

Reviewed By RikardStrandHad the honour to stay at this fantastic location for 4 days on a business trip in August 2018. When we arrived we where greeted by the lovely owner and host Lone. Lone has made this place her self. She showed us to our bedrooms and boy where we in for a treat. It was just like visiting my grandmother in the 80's. Everything was old, authentic and retro. Even the bed sheets and all had that 70-80's feeling. Very nice rooms in different sizes, some singles and some doubles. Everything was clean and well kept. After a good nights sleep we woke up to a heavenly breakfast, fresh made bread and a huge assort of different things to eat. Home made jam, eggs, bacon, cheese, vegetables, fruit and assorted types of meat. Eating was done in the Main House, in a grandmothers kitchen. We ate dinner there two of the nights. First day we ate Lines homemade whale stew that was just the best stew I've ever had in a long time. The second day we got served Bacalao. This bacalao was made by Lone her self, and that was the best meal I ate in 2018. I was totally blown away and I ate 2 portions more then I really should. If you want to relax, have a nice experience and travel back to the good old days I would recommend you to visit this Gem of a place. I will for sure come back here one day. I loved this place and Lones food.

Reviewed By 268g_rilsThis is a place with an amazing view over the ocean, the place is clean and well maintained and the staff is very serviceminded. We rented a cabin with two bedrooms (and our dog was allowed) and it was almost like it was brand new. Very clean, cozy and the ocean was just a meter outside our window! After such an amazing experience we can really recommend that you spend a couple of nights here.

Accommodation are modern fishermen`s cabin. Well equipped kitchen, bathroom and 2 or 3 bedrooms in each cabin. Nice view towards the fjord. Midnight sun in summer,Northern light in winter. The beautiful archipelago in which the resort is located is protected and extremely valuable. Go on a trek around one of several marked hiking trails, go out to sea on one of the boats for hire, or spend the day fishing right outside our apartment door.

Reviewed By OddsolAmazingly beautiful place. Ocean, mountains, fishing, hiking. Incredible beach. Clean. Beautiful islands to cruise by rental boat. Midnight dinner on terrace - priceless. Who wants to sleep? We'll be back!

Reviewed By HappyuvitendeBodde på Bø Vertshus etter en spontan familie tur til Bø i Telemark. Var lite ledig på tidspunktet vi valgte å reise på. Rommet var helt ok. Plasseringen av vertshuset er helt forferdelig. Mens hotellet ligger et lite stykke fra hovedgata i Bø, stille og fredfullt, ligger vertshuset i hovedgata der ungdomsbiler av alle slag kjører frem og tilbake på samme strekningen, fra klokken 16/17 på ettermiddagen til langt ut på kvelden. I tillegg til den normale trafikken. Det er mopeder, biler med bass som durrer i vei, de roper og "hoier" fra bilene. Dette er absolutt ikke overnattings stedet for en barnefamilie!! Hadde vi planlagt turen i god tid hadde vi absolutt valgt et annet oppholds sted. Noe som anbefales. Hotellet i seg selv virker bra, med godt utvalg ved frokosten og hyggelig service. Men vi ble ikke informert om "støyet" på forhånd.
