This little church is a hidden gem and worth visiting as part of Vladimir/Souzdal tour, one of the oldest churches in white stone of XII century, built by Italian stonemasters , ordered by Prince Andrew to commemorate the death of his dear son and to pray in solitude, used to be even more impressive as you can see from the olden plan, surrounded by the river , with a pier for boats, galleries around it, that is double of today`s size, yet even today, after ages of reconstruction work some of the stonework like lions and birds and the paws of the unknown animal at the basement is absolutely stunning, that may be compared to St.Dimitry cathedral in Vladimir in terms of artwork... tip for a long distance traveller: rural summertime toilet near the church is for summer only, otherwise think where you could get a warm enough facility on the way, for a winter journey or wait till Souzdal

Light Bath opened in January 2015. I got to the Church of Sts Boris and Gleb by tourist shuttle bus. It runs on a schedule from downtown Suzdal during the tourist season. You can check it out on the tourism web-site of Suzdal before your visit. The church itself is really stunning. It was before the Mongol invasion. I walked slowly reading all the captions. I had plenty of time. By the next bus arrival I was ready to continue my sightseeing trip.
