Chinchilla Botanic Parkland

This new Parkland incorporates the native prehistoric flora and fauna and the brand-new water play area. This parkland is a reflection of the Aboriginal cultural history and the town's railway heritage connection with the early Western line.

These parklands showcase local flora, local art and provide a place for a pleasant stroll or a family picnic. There is a lovely waterpark and climbing frames for kids to play. It is really well maintained and on our morning walk we saw everything being well cleaned. A great use of the land which we heard had been a disused rail yard .

Boyce Gardens

We actually drove past this gorgeous garden and house by sheer accident. A wonderful suprise - donated to UQ this house was built and loved by a couple who loved nature. We loved walking around and having a look at all the different species of plants which were researched on international travels by the owner. Such a gem.

Japanese Garden

The garden has a few surprises in the layout that are hidden along the small, beautiful paths. There are cascades, ducks, sunning turtles and quaint bridges to observe the bird life from and it is a reasonably short stroll around with seating available to contemplate nature.
