Lampi National Park is the only Marine National Park in Myanmar - Burma and it is nominated by Myanmar Government to United Nations Educational Scientific and Culturall Organization as a World Heritage Site. Lampi Marine National Park covers a group of islands in the Mergui Archipelago in the southern most region of Myanmar. The Mergui aka Myeik Archipelago consists of over 800 islands along 600 kilometers of coastline in the Andaman Sea. The area is covered by tropical evergreen rainforests and is surrounded by an extensive coral reef system. Lampi Island is the biggest island within the park and the core of the marine national park. 48 kilometers long and hilly (150-270 meters above sea level), Lampi island has a rocky coastline and beautiful sandy beaches, bays and inlets.

We go to this beach with motorcycle from Dawei and had to drive near 3 hours with 80 kilo speed.Driver need to skillful and must be patient due to Dawei-LongLon Highway Road is full with big cars.The road is mostly straight from Dawei to Grand Father Beach until one fifth of the path.Around 30 mins before we reach to that beach,we had to go around mountain and can feel the freshness of the cool air.After arrived to the beach,we saw that the beach with nature beauty and blue sea.We can eat fish and other aquatics at the shop located at the corner of the coast.

Local people say the road to this Pagoda is very bad. But when we went there, there was only bad road(ie, with holes on road) about 15 minutes drive only. And we can go there with Toyota WISH not 4 wheel drive. The location and the scene of the beach where the Pagoda is situated are very beautiful. It is one of the places you should go when you arrive Da-Wei.
