Samobor Castle

Reviewed By roys7745 - Tel Aviv, Israel

The castle is really a nice place. One of the most preserved and impressive ruins I’ve seen. Normally you can take a short walk from samobor up the hill (about 15 min) passing a nice spring (drinkable water) But, for people who have hard time Climbing it’s also possible to get there from the little church svete Anna. Take a car ride on svete Anna street. And park when you see the sign to the church. From there there is a short walk to the church (maybe the hardest part) and 15-20 min of very slow walk on very comfortable wide path to the castle. When you arrive to the castle there is some 10-15 meter of “harder” part. But if you have somebody with you helping it should be no problem to pass it. In the castle itself most of the place is easily accessible.

5. Castle Erdody

The Erdödy Castle is the oldest building in Jastrebarsko built in the 15th century. It is located in a beautiful old park that is actually a monument of horticulture. It was in the possession of the Erdödy family. The rectangle castle reinforced by two round towers was one of the keeps during Ottoman invasions. Today, the castle is completely renovated and the interior is not open for visitors.

This castle from 1600 is located on the green hill of the Slavetić region. Originally built as a medieval burg with a Gothic center and a guard tower and castle, in renovations through centuries it was converted into a spacious castle. Castle Zwilling is located in the middle of the ponds Crna Mlaka. Kornelius Zwilling leases it around 1905, and from 1914 to 1920 a complex of villa, promenade and ancillary buildings was built in the style of the late Art Nouveau.
