Museum Majapahit

Reviewed By bawa167799 - Denpasar, Indonesia

Great collection of artifacts if you want to learn of the history of Majapahit Kingdom. There's so much information written (in google) of this great kingdom but to see its actual unearthed artifacts is quite something else. The only downside I think, there are so many items yet to be classified and needs a lot more work to put them in working catalogue. Currently, It's practically just sit there. Still, plenty of interesting read and information available. Near by, there are old site of Majapahit house (digging site), climb to the steel construction and see its schematic from above. Also, plenty of stone tablets and huge statues; they are particularly impressive! This museum is just one of the connecting dots to Majapahit Kingdom, with also a lot other beautiful site nearby such as Bajang Ratu temple, Wringing Lawang, etc to visit. There is local booklet available in Indonesian language, which I purchased locally and it contains comprehensive information of the sites, their historical background and information. I think, the government needs to provide this information for free as it is an important information of our glorious past.
