The 7 Best Architectural Buildings in Salamanca (District), Community of Madrid

June 8, 2021 Claudia Navarrete

So many of Madrid’s buildings look like castles, you’ll think you’ve stumbled into a fairytale. Even City Hall is astounding, with its white pinnacles and neo-Gothic features. A self-guided architecture tour can begin by the great bear statue in the central Puerta del Sol. Wander by the fanciful Royal Palace before absorbing the natural beauty of Retiro Park, then visit one of the city’s many museums. You could happily cap off each day by nibbling on forkfuls of paella while sipping Spanish rioja.

Edificio Metropolis

Reviewed By Luciafernandez62

This is a symbol of Madrid, so when you visit this incredible city you must take a walk preferably from Puerta de Alcala, go down towards gorgeous Plaza de Cibeles and continue walking uphill on Gran Via. You will soon be facing this building and will recognize it immediately. It belongs to Metropolis Seguros, who bought it and restored it on 1972 from another insurance company, La Union y el Fenix. It is one of the most recognizable buildings in Madrid. It is decorated with pillars and sculptures. Its magnificent dome is topped by a statue of the winged goddess Victoria, which replaced the original bronze statue of the Phoenix and Ganymedes, symbol of the original owner of the building.
