I have climbed this mountain many times in all seasons. It's known for its spectacular autumn scenery and is thus very busy at this time of the year. However, it is just as good in other seasons. It can be climbed from two sides (Akita, from the Sukawa Onsen, and Miyagi, from a dead end access road). Highly recommended for winter ascents for its relative safety, although it still needs to be respected. There's a volcanic river and lake on the way up that is well worth the visit. At the onsen you can bathe your feet (for free) in the hot stream beside the restaurant. A quick dip in the outside bath at the same place is a great way to finish your hike. There's plenty of free parking on both sides of the mountain.

湖上遊覧で蓮の花々の中をのんびり移動しました。
蓮の花が咲き始める朝方が特におすすめです。

宮城秋田を結ぶ国道３９８号線にある道の駅。物産館には「自然薯の館」とネーミングが付いています。県境沿いとあってかＳ社のケータイは３Ｇマークが出るもののアンテナは○○○○○＝０／５と不安定な電波状態。周囲には他に休憩スポットはなく、長距離運転される方はトイレタイムに一息つかれては如何でしょうか。

源義家と安倍貞任が前九年の役で戦った古戦場でもあります。
公園が整備されていて、複合遊具やローラー滑り台（すべりはよくない）があり、川遊びと併せて楽しめるので、子ども連れで来るとよいでしょう。
公園部分の川は流れは速くありませんでした。水はとてもきれいです。

宮城県栗原市の栗駒山にある湿原です。湿原の中を木造に沿って歩くことができます。季節ごとにニッコウキスゲやミズバショウなどが湿原を彩ります。駐車場あります。

普段は静かな公園で無料で開放されていますが、毎年6月中旬から7月上旬にかけて開催されるあやめ祭りの際はたくさんの人が訪れます。あやめ祭りは有料となり、大人510円です。栗原市一迫にはゆり園というのもあり、こちらとの共通入場券もあります。
