This 1871 tower and keeper's building in nearby Fairport Harbor have been on my bucket list for a long time. There is a local TV station that did a segment on Fairport Harbor and showed the dilemma they are facing at the lighthouse because of government lockouts resulting in diminished revenue for upkeep of this fine resource. That's what made me get up and go for a visit today. First I emailed the keeper for information on hours and prices so I could plan my trip a little in advance. I took a few photos around the tower and I will attempt to share them here. The museum has so many archives and relics from a bygone age of Great Lakes shipping (not SO very far in the past after all) that cannot be cataloged, in my opinion.

Really nice clean park. Very clean, had outdoor shower to clean off sand from feet, and ice cream shop was open. Was only $3 to park.
Captain Bruce Lindamood, the Captain of our unique charter boat, "In-The-Mood" has been enjoying catching walleye on our great Lake Erie for years! He and his brother Chad decided to open a charter business after many years of pleasure fishing. They are as we say, "just two brothers and a boat" that will give you loads of fish and fun!! We will never just fish for a few hours if the limit is not met. Come join us for a fishing, fun-filled day of smiles as you bring walleye to your table!!!
