Veteran's Falls

Veterans park is a small location in Marinette county. The area of the falls is down a collection of stairs so be prepared for a short vertical decent and accent. There is a viewing platform and you are free to climb, swim, fish or hike the entire area. When the temp reaches 90 degrees you will find the locals dropping their core temps in the chilly mountain river. A small gem just far enough off the beaten path to be secluded and private. M-F you may be one if a handful that visit. Restroom and water pump, grills and camping sites. The Thunder River is teaming with trout of the brook and rainbow variety. Enjoy the rocks and the waters...woof woof ....no dogs in the picnic area but they are welcome at the river and swim area!
If it is 90 or better you will find me posted up under the big pine tree with my chair in the river.

Harmony Arboretum

This is a hidden gem in northeastern Wisconsin. It's a lovely area of both flower and vegetable gardens, an orchard, a children's garden with fun exploration areas, a pavilion, a wetland and a shade garden, and even a waterfall feature. The Northern Lights Master Gardeners in the Marinette County area take care of this attraction and do a great job. There are also hiking trails in the hardwoods area and nearby prairie, and horticulture/gardening/education programs are held from April through November. And it's free and open to the public year-round.

Timberline Bar & Grill

Stopped in while out snowmobiling. The Friday night fish was great, large portion and a nice light breading. Prices were very reasonable, we were seated right away and the food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. All the food was very good.

Our waitress Emily was wonderful, she really did a great job.

Thanks for the great experience and a fun place to stop in to eat and warm up.

The wine was good. I was a little put off that the server let her coworker go somewhere (on break maybe) when our group of 4 came is followed closely by a much larger group of 6 or 7. She grouped us all together to try to serve as one group and it was clearly too many people for her to handle at once.

Tammy's Bar and Grill

Stopped in for lunch at Tammy's after a morning on the ATV trails. Was very easy to to get to from the trail. Inside was very nice -- modern and clean. Tammy, her mom Peggy, and her brother took great care of us. Had some delicious burgers & waffle fries. I thought my mixed drink was a bit on the weak side, but I think that about most mixed drinks that I don't make myself. FYI that they are cash only -- no credit cards. I'm glad we stopped in, and I would recommend it to other travelers.
