Well worth the drive from Cochrane. We went quite late in the afternoon/early evening, which is the time when the light is at its best for photography. The road from Cochrane is rather bumpy and in some places narrow, fortunately we saw no other cars on the hairpin bends nearer the lake.

This is a top level installation in the middle of the Chilean Patagonia. We had lunch in the main building, looking at the Guanacos while they walk freely in the park, just in front of you.
We visit the Organic Garden, where you can find cherry tomatoes, kale, and fresh mint, it is really amazing.
There is also a lodge where you can stay, we just visited the Park for some hours. Also you have a lot of alternatives to visit, either trekking, walking or simply driving.
Don’t miss it if you are in Cochrane.

Estar a pocos metros de un glaciar, sobre una pequeña playa, con tus niños jugando de manera segura al lado del rio que nace en el seno del glaciar mismo, con la posibilidad de tomar con sus manos pequeños trozos de hielo que arrastra el agua hasta la orilla. No tiene precio. S bien no pudimos hacer el trekking sobre el Calluqueo por ser nuestros niños aun pequeños, la agencia nos ofreció esta alternativa maravillosa. En medio de la misma un pequeño servicio que supera por lejos con cosas simples la clásica bebida espirituosa con hielo del glaciar que se ofrece en otros ventisqueros y glaciares mucho más renombrados en actividades similares.
Excelente la atención de los guías, destacando a Rody, quien nos acompañó durante toda la excursión.
Imperdonable, inexcusable no realizar este paseo si se visita Cochrane...

Today we went on the fantastic full day tour to the Glacier with Lord Patagonia.
We were picked up from our hostel at 9:30 and drove for about 1 hour to the starting point. The trek to the Glacier was about 1,5 hours. There we got the gear for climbing on the Glacier.
It was an amazing experience. This glacier is different than the Glacier Exploradores in Puerto Rio Tranquilo, because that one is a complete valley and the Callequeo is between Mountains. So the views are very different. And this one is more steep.
We walked on the Glacier for about 1/1,5 hours and then we had lunch. We had lunch next to the Glacier: a very nice Sandwich, some cookies, chocolate and nuts. Also we enjoyed a local liquor made from some sort of berries. Really good!
We walked back on the Glacier and proceeded as we came with about the same times. We were back just after 6 o clock.
The tour costs 45.000 pesos and I think that this is very good value for money. The guide Antonio was great and we also briefly met Jimmy (I guess it is his company?) and he also is a very fun guy!
I would definitely recommend this trip. A must do when you are in Cochrane!
