We stopped by here after breakfast just to chat with the friendly man in the shed. He told us the story of the boat Independence and about the explorers of the area. It was an interesting bit of history. We ended up buying a small plank to make a donation to their cause. It only takes 20 minutes but I definitely recommend stopping by for a chat. And perhaps your own plank/donation.

We loved our tour of the Oyster Farm which gave our family a great insight to the processes involved in farming Oysters at American River. The service was great and the staff gave you a 'real locals' insight into the history of the farm and the American River area. The Aqua Platter was AMAZING - well worth indulging yourself in what we thought was the best seafood we have ever had!!!! Well worth the trip whilst on Kangaroo Island.
