Louvain-la-Neuve (French pronunciation: [lu.vɛ̃.la.nœv], French for New Leuven) is a planned city in the municipality of Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, situated 30 km southeast of Brussels, in the French-speaking part of the country. The city was built to house the Université Catholique de Louvain; following the linguistic quarrels that took place in Belgium during the 1960s, and Flemish claims of discrimination at the Catholic University of Leuven, the institution was split into the Dutch language Katholieke Universiteit Leuven which remained in Leuven, and the Université Catholique de Louvain.

Belgium, being cartoonists heaven shows proudly its heritage here and there. So does the futuristic building containing the Hergémuseeum outside Brussels. A short trip by train, a short walk and you are about to see incredible sketches as well as getting to know the highly regarded man behind the images. A significant moment for Tintin-lovers.

Created a decade ago, L'Antre de Special-Beer saw its ownership change last year, in favor of a young entrepreneurial team. The store sells a wide panel of beers from everywhere in Belgium (over 600) and relatives (glasses, accessories,...). We try to give as much advice as we can, and love sharing info on beers our clients and we have tried!
