Umpqua Local Goods is a social enterprise, created through a partnership between NeighborWorks Umpqua and Phoenix Charter School. We operate on a quadruple bottom line, investing in four social causes to work to make our community a better place. The store facilitates retail programming for alternative high school students to learn valuable skills, provides an outlet for local artisans and farmers to sell goods, allows food entrepreneurs to test and create value-added products in our licensed commercial kitchen, and gives downtown residents access to healthy and affordable food options. All products on the shelf are made in Oregon, with most handcrafted or grown by Umpqua Valley residents. Stop by for a visit or contact us for more information. All proceeds from sales funnel directly back into the program. By shopping at the store, you help support small businesses, invest in education and future community leaders, and strengthen the local economy. We are continually working to improve the store. Contact us with comments and questions. We appreciate your support.

Located in a wonderful old Government building, that if I remember right as a kid growing up out Harvard in the 50s and 60s, was a Naval Reserve building, originally part of the Oregon Soldiers home, I think. The rooms and hallways inside this well-kept building are covered with displays of mixed media art featuring local artists. The displays are ever changing, so it is worth multiple visits in the course of a year. Further down in this review, this site required that I give the date of my first visit and limits me to just 2019 dates. I was forced to pick one although it is far from the correct answer. I have been regularly visiting here probably in excess of 25 years. It is a wonderful venue for a non profit venture so I donate $20 every time I visit and a much larger year-end donation. You will like this place, so please donate like I do to help keep it going.
