Ecole du Ski Francais

Was in Valmorel for a week and signed up for the classe 1 group lesson and for a private lesson. Richard and Mattieu are both excellent and friendly instructors. All good to say about EFS in Valmorel.

Station de ski de Valmorel

Located close to the Vanoise Park in Savoie, Valmorel is the 1st resort in the Tarentaise Valley. The Grand Domaine, which combines Valmorel, Saint-François-Longchamp, Doucy and the less well-known Col de la Madeleine, offers skiers a sunny ski area with 165km of pistes. Between forests, gentles slopes on Alpine pastures and more committing slopes on the peaks, the Grand Domaine gives you the opportunity to enjoy a varied playground accessible to all levels of skiers. Littles ones and grown-ups can easily cross the Col de la Madeleine on skis with just a "blue piste" level of ability.

Beautiful mountain views. Pretty village centre with pleasant restaurants. Some small bars for drinks but a resort ideally suited to couples. Slower lifts and more drags than you might expect compared to the larger resorts, but in our opinion the slower pace of skiing and life in general made for a truly relaxing and enjoyable ski break. Very few queues from the lift pass centre to the slopes. Avoid going in French school holidays we did. No compromise on the quality of skiing; good snow conditions despite not having snow for over a week and plenty of sun. Stunning views on par with larger and higher resorts. A real hidden gem.
