Bishop Peak

Named because it resembles a bishop's hat, the highest peak of the Morros range is heavily used by hikers and bicyclists. The climb to the top will take anywhere from one to two hours depending on your fitness level.

2 hours round trip for our family for great views and meeting friendly hikers helping each other up the (optional) rocks at the summit. Not an easy hike but we saw small kids doing well and lots of dogs. The view Is great all the way up and it’s well work the work. No bathrooms so take care of business before.

Ragged Point Overlook

The views along Highway 1 from Big Sur to San Simeon are amazing. We stopped numerous times for photos of the coast. If you are driving this area, be sure to stop at the Piedras Blancas Elephant Seal Rookery to see quite a few elephant seals, up close from the boardwalk.

Vista Point

There are lots of places to pull off the road and take in the scenic view. There is the State Park with pier, park and picnic area in San Simeon. Also many stops to pull over and see the views and look for whales, seals an sea otters. Having binoculars is helpful.
