Located at one of Florida's only inland seaplane basins, where pilots like to stop in, enjoy the entertainment, and often spend the night before the next day's adventures. Jet skis are available for rental, as well as boat rentals (temporarily suspended until dock reconstruction is completed). There is a Paddleboat, the Dora Queen, which has lake cruises in the evenings and weekends.. Live entertainment is common on the weekends on the waterfront at Puddle Jumpers (restaurant and bar) and Kahlua Beach Bar (bar with limited menu). The hotel itself has the Tiki West Raw Bar and Grille, Shiners's BBQ, as well as the Doghouse Sports Bar, and Hemingway's Cigar Bar on premises. Classic Boat Racing, Antique Car Shows, Sailing Regattas, and Jet Ski Tournaments are common events on Lake Dora in Tavares, as well as the famous Arts and Antiques Festivals in Mt. Dora. Perfect Location and Excellent Service for my Birthday Party Concert Fundraiser!
Reviewed By christinewstewartWe hosted my birthday party concert fundraiser, Rock Stars for Lake Cares, in April 2022 at the Key West Resort on Lake Dora. The rooftop event space was perfect! Sam, Sydney, Alex and the maintenance team were responsive and helpful. Our guests loved the lake and sunset views from the rooftop. We were able to extend a blocked room rate to our guests, which was nice. The band had access to electrical outlets and all went well from a sound standpoint. We had several guests stay at the resort and they were happy with the accommodations. They have a pool with a lake view and a restaurant, The Dog House, on the property, which is great. Our catering and event team said everything went smoothly, and the guests are still talking about this wonderful venue and how much fun they had at the event!

We are a five story location, located in Tavares, Florida, directly across Highway 441 from Florida Hospital Waterman. We neighbor the cities of Eustis, Leesburg, and Mount Dora. There are many nearby places for shopping, eating, and entertaining. Come visit the Seaplane City!

Reviewed By jkscooterOnly one negative. Room odor was moldy/urine like. Desk clerk supplied a can of Lysol when asked which temporarily took care of the problem. Only stayed one night. Desk clerk "Caitlin" was extremely helpful. I had a problem with my cell phone that she fixed in short order. Very personable lady. Easy run into Mr. Dora. Maybe 15 minutes away depending upon traffic. There are a number of restaurants within a short drive. Advent Hospital is close. Definitely would stay here again.

Nice Overnight Stay
Reviewed By Smiles4milesThis hotel is nice for an overnight stay when traveling to the Florida coast. It’s relatively new, very clean and quite comfortable. Our room was quiet and I appreciated the hooks on the wall for jackets and purses. The desk clerk was very friendly and checked us in very efficiently. Breakfast is available but I can’t comment because we left without trying it. Hurricane’s Grill is about a 1-minute walk away and has typical seafood entrees and sandwiches in a pleasant waterfront setting. The very charming downtown Tavares is approximately a 10-minute drive and the lake waterfront is very appealing. If you have time make the half hour drive to Eatons Beach restaurant because the food is fantastic, including the absolutely mouthwatering bread pudding. All in all, a nice inexpensive lodging for a road trip.

Reviewed By D1813AUdonnapMy husband did a bike ride in Mt Dora. We stayed here the night prior because it was located close by, only 10 minutes away and the rate was very affordable. Had a wonderful experience and a shout out to Nita who went above and beyond to accommodate us. The entire staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. Our king room was super clean, spacious with a microwave and refrigerator. I would definitely recommend!
