Amazing family skiing holiday

Reviewed By silkyzoom

This is an amazing hotel, nothing was too much trouble and they had thought of everything. The website photos are very accurate, the indoor and outdoor pool and spa were superb. The food was plentiful, varied and delicious with lots of choice. The staff were very friendly and even baked my daughter a birthday cake for her birthday. This is the best ski hotel I have stayed at and 100% recommend staying here. In terms of location, it is on a red ski run with a lift station within walking distance (5 minutes) or you can ski down from the hotel to the bottom of the gondola in a few minutes. This lift takes you to the main ski area of Solden where you can access the entire ski area. A huge thank you to all the staff at the hotel for making it such a wonderful stay.

Fantastic

This really is a fabulous hotel. Staff are so friendly. It’s super clean. Food is wonderful. Rooms are spacious with lots of storage. Beds are very comfortable. There is a great boot room with a locker assigned to each bedroom. It’s all newly renovated. Ski out and in on a red. But you can walk across to a gondola. Would highly recommend for a quiet ski holiday. Loved the hotel and will return.

This is probably the best ski hotel we have ever visited. From the word go the staff were very attentive and could not do enough to help. The rooms (we had two of the newly refurbished double rooms) were spacious, beautifully decorated, with modern shower rooms and a separate toilet and had wonderful balconies looking over the slopes. Plenty of storage space and a sitting area with a desk and a separate television. The main television is huge and has a good selection of UK channels. For those that are skiing, the boot/storage room is on the lower ground floor, with decent sized, lockable lockers for each room. The only thing to watch out for is if one (or heaven forbid, two) of you is a boarder there really isn’t enough room in the locker and there is a strict prohibition on taking boards up to your room…. The locker room leads straight onto the slope (after a bit of a walk down a hill), which is a red run (but is a pretty easy red run) down to the Hochsolden bubble which will take back up to mid station (right opposite the hotel at the Sonnblick restaurant) and then up to the main Giggijoch mid station. Beware that on the way down the bubble does not stop at the mid station so you have to go all the way down and then back up to the Sonnblick. The restaurant and bar were both highlights. We were on the half board option and breakfast, afternoon tea and the 6 course evening dinner were all of very high quality. There is an option of an omelette or fried eggs as a no cost option cooked by the kitchen at breakfast and everything else you would expect, cooked, continental, pastries, cereals, fruit, etc. is all laid out in buffet style. The dinner orders are taken at breakfast and there is always a meat, fish and vegetarian option for main course. The starter, soup and desert course are always pre-set and there is always a very good selection of cheeses on offer. The wine list is (obviously) mainly Austrian and has an excellent selection at pretty reasonable prices. The bar is a really lovely area, nicely decorated in a older style with modern touches and there is a fantastic wood burning fire which they have on each evening. The spa facilities are very pleasant, the pool a decent size and all look over the wonderful views of the mountains. I caught COVID on day 4 of our holiday and the hotel (particularly the manager Joerg) was really helpful in extending my stay and making sure all meal orders were taken and delivered to my room. This extended to drinks and the afternoon tea… all at no extra cost (save for the cost of the drinks themselves). They also sorted out my PCR test which was delivered to my room and then dropped by them down to the pharmacy in Soelden. This is a really top notch hotel with wonderfully attentive and friendly service. Very highly recommended.

Hotel Hochsolden

In unserem 4 Sterne Hotel geniessen Sie absolute Ruhe.

Nice location, not a 4 stars

Reviewed By rpask72

This is a very well located hotel on the slopes. Standard mountain Rooms are very simple decor and very small. ( triple room is too small) and the bathroom tiny. Restaurant serves good food, nice buffet and a la carte menu. Breakfast is very nice and lot of choice. unfortunately the staff is not friendly and not welcoming. The owner a old lady that is not very nice and not welcoming . ( at least with us) Nobody speaks French or English.. This is not a 4 stars hotel. I would say a good 3 stars. Very convenient if you don’t care about service and details. Spa nice and pool nice. Nice ski room. We won’t return to this hotel. Be careful there is not free shuttle from hotel Hochsölden to Sölden . single trip is 30 euros for 4 people and 50 for over 6 people. Pictures in internet site do not reflect the reality.

Slidte lejeligheder

Reviewed By Mortensen7
