Schaluinenhoeve is a luxury hotel, located just outside the center of the historical Baarle-Nassau and -Hertog. The beautiful location surrounded by lots of nature, brings you all the peace and quiet to escape your daily routine. The fully equipped hotel offers a large garden, a big swimming pond and an authentic hunting room with lounge area and library. This is also the place to start your day with a delicious breakfast, consisting of special regional products. Baarle-Nassau and Baarle-Hertog are unique for their ‘enclave’ history. This means that parts of the Dutch Baarle-Nassau and the Belgium Baarle-Hertog are surrounded by each other. This makes for a mixture of Belgium and The Netherlands. The border of both countries crosses the streets and even passes through houses. For that reason, Baarle-Nassau and Baarle-Hertog have always been a beloved place for tourists. Therefore, there are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from.
Lovely stay
Reviewed By peter hWe only stayed for one night. But it was a lovely night we were greeted by a great view and the hotel was in a very picturesqe setting. They had an outdoor pool which was lovely to cool off in as the temperature was about 32 degrees. They lady who checked us in was friendly and brought us to the room explaining things like the air conditioning. The honesty bar was well stocked and had a lot of variety. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend the experience to anyone.

Good if you use the facilities
Reviewed By patentedmovesThe rooms are sober with no fridge or coffee service. The tv has little choice and is a little screen high on the wall. They advertise an indoor and outdoor pool, but the indoor pool was closed when we were there and the outdoor pool is part of a sauna where you have to go naked. There is no elevator and the stairs are steep and would be difficult for some people, especially with luggage. If you are going to use their facilities it is nice and probably a good value, but otherwise look for something else.

Reviewed By David CJust on the outskirts of this village in quiet farm location The establishment is a family house and kennels with lots of award winning dogs and farm animals but carefully segregated from guests so no need to worry if you are not a dog lover Rooms spacious clean with private bathroom, TV and adjacent shared kitchen living room with all tea coffee facilities and breakfast served here There is a nice area to sit outside with cushions etc provided a large parking area Only drawback is its 25min walk to the restaurants so own transport essential Not to everyone's cup of tea if you prefer the more modern type B&Bs but excellent value and no complaints

Wonderful Place to stay
Reviewed By Giles558I stayed at Bed of de Reth for a night last week and cannot recommend it enough. The facilities are exceptional, my room was comfortable, very clean and nice modern bathroom. It was lovely to be able to make tea in the kitchen and watch the wildlife from the conservatory. My bicycle was safely stored in the barn overnight. It is in a nice quiet rural location but only 5 minutes cycle ride to Baarle Nassau centre. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. Thank you both for such a lovely stay.
