We were greeted by the owner, Mr Rordorf, who provided a detailed and informative history about his chateau. He then went on to show us the rooms, which contained many games, etc, of which he is an avid collector. He is clearly passionate about his collection, and his enthusiasm for them and for the history and family connection to Chateau Epanvillier, was very endearing. Such chateaux would not survive if it were not for people such as Mr Rordorf who put their interest and energy into making it a lasting French legacy. Don't expect Versailles - but it does has its own charm and Mr Rordoft was a brilliant host and brimming with information - thank you for such a great time.
