Hidden and still well-preserved architectural gems in Oltenia region. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, the ticket is a bargain, and you are in for a treat if you like history and architecture!

Built in 1230, it had an overwhelming importance from the military point of view. In 1524 it is attacked and destroyed by Turkish troops led by Baliteg-Pasa. Severin Fortress or rather the ruins of the fortress are located in Dragalina park from Drobeta Turnu-Severin.

Beautiful ruins! A place you must visit. A walk back in time to dacs time. Newly renovated (2016). You can see Danube river nearby.
