Idea Balloon Mongolfiere inToscana

From here, you will fly over the legendary Chianti landscape with its hilltop towns, castles, valleys, famous vineyards, and mixed woodlands. A powerful landscape, one of the most civilised rural scenes on earth, cultivated tranquility of olives, vines, and corn. The olives' silver and the many variegated shades of green appear as a veil over elemental majesty and silence. On clear days in the distance you can see Florence to the North and the Apennine mountain range in the background; to the West you can see the Elsa valley, San Gimignano, Certaldo, and Volterra and the sea in the far distance; to the South, Poggibonsi, Colle Val d'Elsa and Siena and Monte Amiata in the distance; to the East the higher Monti del Chianti and mixed oak woodlands.all in a hot air balloon with safety and courtesy, we are a certified company from ENAC (Civil Aviation Auth.)

Poggio al Sole Winery

The grape growing and wine making traditions of the Davaz family go back several decades. The Davaz have been cellaring wine in their estate between Fläsch and Maienfeld in the Bündner Herrschaft of Switzerland (Domain of the Grisons Lords ) since the early seventies. Sons Johannes and Andrea were originally winegrowers and cellar men who subsequently pursued a formal training as oenologists. The family then acquired «Poggio al Sole» in 1990 where the elder son, Johannes, now lives with his family.

Casa Emma

The Bucalossi family bought the estate from the Florentine noblewoman Emma Bizzarri. They have maintained the name “Casa Emma” respecting the historical roots of this land. The inherent philosophy of the company is to integrate the work of men with the surrounding environment so they merge into a single block of spectacular beauty. The estate of Casa Emma with its beautiful botanical park of Chianti with the blossoming roses of Chianti, with its beautiful vineyards, arranged like an amphitheater around the central core, reveals an ancient philosophy of life, where one can truly enjoy everything that surrounds them only by merging into it and thereby contribuiting to its improvements. Located at the heart of Chianti Classico, at an altitude of 420m. above sea level, the vineyards of Casa Emma are surely among the greatest expressions that a land like Chianti Classico can offer.

If you know anything about wine tasting, the education and experience of tasting a variety of wines can best be enjoyed when you have knowledgeable staff, hands-on tours and fabulous views while enjoying the tastes of some excellent wine. We enjoyed our tour, tasting and experience of purchasing some wines, oils and vinegar and have it all shipped back to us in the States. It is definitely worth the time to set up a visit and enjoy some great Tuscany hospitality!

On our last day in Tuscany we've had a wine tasting at Poggio al Bosco. Due to Covid-restrictions it was different than normal, but it was stil great. We all tasted 2 wines (each one could choose their own wine) which were really tasty. Of course we ended up buying wine, but you definately do not feel obliged to do so. Its a nice small family winery where you feel welcome and where they have great wine.

Imagine such a fortress in the middle of Tuscan hillside, restored of recent and impressive as any you may encounter. The cellar tour was my highlight - you can feel the history, and smell the carefully crafted wines in their oak casks (barrique) waiting and maturing over time. If the chance exists to try either the Michelin star dining room or the restaruant (Ristorante L'Antica Scuderia), both were incredible.
