Miss Emily's Blue Bee Bar

Reviewed By rejuvenate - Manitoba, Canada

Our intention in writing this review is to offer support and encouragement to the owners and staff of Miss Emily's - we pray they and their families are safe from the devastation HD caused and that they will be able to rebuild their homes, business and community. And also to offer gratitude for providing such great service during our Nov 2018 trip to GTC. Prior to our trip we'd read that Miss Emily's was not to be missed; having experienced it ourselves we now know why. From the friendly service, delicious beverages, its history, and more importantly, that it's right across from the basketball court, where we witnessed the gathering of the community that Saturday night with kids running around and riding bikes, parents visiting, everyone clearly having a great time. Made us pause and say "wow, wouldn't it be nice to be part of this community". This is just one of the many qualities GTC possesses that makes it truly a very special place. The world could use a whole lot more of its charm for sure :)

Great Guana Cay

One of the more undeveloped islands in the Bahamas, known for its Loyalist history and the friendliness of its inhabitants.

This is a beautiful island! Quiet, relaxing, peaceful place to rest and refresh with gorgeous beaches, wonderful boating, and great snorkeling. Its very safe and the islanders are very friendly and helpful! We went with two other couples and rented a fantastic house ,named Watch Hill, right on the beach! We also rented a boat and golf carts from Dive Guana. We all agreed Great Guana Cay is one of the prettiest places we’ve ever visited! We would definitely go back again!

Castaway Cay

Bahamian Out Island currently owned by the Disney Corporation, which is accessible only by arriving on a Disney cruise ship.

As part of the Disney cruise we visited their island for the day. Arriving in the morning, leaving at the end of the afternoon. Disney did a fantastic job on this one. Plenty of beach to lay one (also has an adult only area), plenty of water to swim in and lots of activities for both parents and kids from just swimming, snorkeling, etc. Plenty of of food to pick up from during launch with their barbeque, especially enjoyed their spicy chicken. Even has a little store with beach oriented gear (easily payable with the disney card to your room on the boat). Would not have minded to stay a few more days! There really wasnt anything for us to complain on.

Tucked into the very charming village of Little Harbor in mid Abaco, this is your prototypical Bahamas beach bar of your imagination; soft sand, strong rum drinks beautiful surroundings and excellent food. The pity is that they aren't open more often.
