Chagall Windows - Hadassah Ein Kerem

Dear Visitor, Marc Chagall, the famous Russian-born painter and designer, created 12 Windows representing the 12 sons of Jacob and donated them to Hadassah in 1962 after they were exhibit in the Louvre in Paris and in the Museum of Modern Art in NYC. We offer a tour of the 12 Windows as well as a tour of our Heritage Center which includes more than 100 years of history of Hadassah. You can have an explanation in English, Hebrew, Spanish, French, German and Russian! We will be happy to welcome you for a tour from Sunday to Thursday from 8:30am to 3:30pm (last entrance). This tour is the best way to discover one of the most famous and splendid work of Marc Chagall and the incredible humane work of Hadassah. You don't want to miss it!

Our group visited the Chagall Windows in the synagogue of the Hadassah hospital. Our guide, Ariella, was excellent in her presentation of the history of Hadassah and the symbolism of the windows. Each window is a reflection on one of the twelve sons of Jacob in the Old Testament. It was a lovely and memorable visit.
