The city of Simi Valley (from the Chumash word, Shimiyi), in the eponymous valley, is in the southeast corner of Ventura County, California, United States. 30 miles (48 km) from Downtown Los Angeles, Simi Valley is part of the Greater Los Angeles Area. The city sits next to Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, and Los Angeles. The city's 2014 population has been estimated at 126,871, up from 111,351 in 2000. The city of Simi Valley is surrounded by the Santa Susana Mountain range and the Simi Hills, west of the San Fernando Valley, and northeast of the Conejo Valley. It is largely a commuter bedroom community, feeding the cities in the Los Angeles area and the San Fernando Valley to the east, and cities in Ventura County to the west.

I have been visiting historical sites and Presidential libraries for 10 years now, and the Reagan library is probably my favorite one so far! The museum is extremely high-tech and features countless artifacts relating the the Reagans’ lives and presidency, everything in the museum was amazing; the Christmas exhibit mesmerized me with its fragrances that I actually contemplated asking if they sold air fresheners of the scent! The museum is laid out so well, and the video shown that featured President Reagan’s voice honestly made me emotional as I remembered his struggle with Alzheimer’s and recalled watching his funeral in 2004. The museum is definitely a day trip, with so much to see and do, including statues, a piece of the Berlin Wall, and the graves of Ronald and Nancy Reagan on the grounds. It is probably the best I have visited to-date. I urge anyone with an interest in history to make a pilgrimage to the Reagan library; it’s a day you’ll never forget!

Although I went when the weather was a bit rainy and a sign was up about possible closures for rain, the employee on staff let me know and chatted before deciding to get me a tour of whatever I wanted to see. She was kind to have sympathy for someone who had driven a long ways and already put the $3 donation in the box. Her knowledge is outstanding, and she patiently answered my questions. The variety of things to see is worth your time.

This place is very quaint. It is lots of fun to visit for adults who like scaled trains. They have wonderful track layouts. Thay also have volenteers who a ver knowledgable. About the trains and are more than happy to go over things. They also have an area with old memorabilia. It is a nice place to visit for a couple of hours. Have Fun Thanks Terry

The Corrigan Movie Ranch is a fun and interesting nature walk in the sparse hills of Simi Valley, easily accessible year round. the set are all gone, but interpretive signs tell you where hundreds of movie and television scenes were filmed. Give it 90 minutes.
