The 5 Best Transportation in Yosemite National Park, Yosemite National Park

October 25, 2021 Joeann Galban

Tucked into the mountains of California, Yosemite National Park is renowned for its granite cliffs and waterfalls. Half Dome and El Capitan are two of the formations made famous by photographer Ansel Adams. The valley is open year-round for camping, hiking, and climbing. Traffic is congested during peak season and park rangers encourage visitors to use the free shuttle system. For upscale visits, the Ahwahnee Hotel, built in 1927, is chic and luxurious.

YARTS - Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System

It was my first visit to Yosemite National Park, and I stayed in the city of Merced and took the YARTS bus to Yosemite National Park return trips twice on May 21st and May 22nd, 2019. The first driver I had on May 21, 2019 from Merced train station to Yosemite was Stephen. He was punctual, friendly, and extremely helpful on information and very knowledgable about Yosemite Park itself. I would like to thank you Stephen for his outstanding services!

Yosemite Valley Shuttle System

Reviewed By cool_satchmo - Mumbai, India

This is a free service and we made full use of it during our day trip to the valley floor. We took the YARTS bus service from Mariposa and back and then used the shuttles throughout the day. They operate every few minutes in both directions and there is room on them - at least standing space, which is OK since the rides are very short - from one point to the next. Drivers are courteous and help disabled and old people to get on and off the bus. Highly recommended
