Yamunotri temple belongs to Devi Yamuma, sister of Lord Yamraj. The temple is one of the four dham temples in Uttrakhand. One has to walk 6 kms to reach the hilltop were the temple is situated. The walk is fairly steep. Senior citizens can take a palki or a pony. We took pony for our parents. There is a natural hot water spring at the top were one can take bath before going to the temple. Hygiene level at the pond is alright. Must visit temple.

Janki Chatti town is extremely renowned among sightseers who go to the district of Yamunotri. However, we stayed at the swiss tents in barkot which is 30 kms away from Janki Chatti.
