Visited on a weekday in October and had the entire place to ourself. Indoor and outdoor viewing areas as well as small exhibits and films. It truly is amazing what all in involved with the fish population and workings of dams. What really impressed me was the park like grounds are open to the public for frisbee golf. Great use of the grounds to benefit the community. The green grass is not just for looks.

I have been to Hat Rock State Park many times. The trails have a variety level for walking and hiking. Paved paths around the pond. Lots of wildlife to see. Benches and picnic tables placed along the way where you can stop for a rest or to just sit back and enjoy watching wildlife unfold. Lots of parking and a nice boat ramp. There are also places a person can fish along the river. I have noticed that even when the parking lots have a lot of vehicles in it, it is a nice quiet place to visit. There is a convenience store and camp ground located near the entrance to the park.
