River Drim

The attractive River Drim is the outflow from the beautiful, clean Freshwater Lake Ohrid, and the water rushes under wooden Bridges through a man made channel with restaurants on either side. The mouth of the river is an attractive area, with reed beds and small sailing craft. This is, without doubt, the most attractive part of Struga

Dr. Nikola Nezlobinski Museum

My kids were mesmerised with this place. The first thing that greets you as you enter is a 10ft Grizzly bear. An excellent collection of Ohrid lake's fauna from the water, land and sky; all in Taxidermy form. We spent a good hour here. Each of the 100s of taxidermy samples are meticulously displayed in their natural habitats behind glass (sorry no touching).
Entrance is 50 denari for adults (about $1) and 20 denari for kids - well worth it. You might consider making an extra donation as it is unusually cheap to enter. Check out their Lake Ohrid trout - said to have been caught at the mouth of the river Drim in 1970 over a metre long and a whopping 16.5kg - my pic doesn't do it justice. I wonder if the locals ate its insides before preserving it for history???
The Siamese twin calf did my head in! No pun intended.

Ask for the key to the cave church at the restaurant just at the base of the cliff. Make your way up, up, up the steps to a beautiful, tiny cave church. The area is dotted with these cave churches and they are lovely..the paintings, the icons and in most cases, the views! You'll be glad you hiked up the stairs!

Miladinov Brothers memorial house

Reviewed By cherriesfan_9 - Cheltenham, United Kingdom

I Struga old town, down an unmade side street with a fine colection of puddles and pot holes and semi-derelict buildings, there is an impressive bronze statue of two men outside a fine renovated C17th two story house.
We had rather optimistically,a and unsuccessfully turned up to see the museum deciated to the Brother Miladinov (their statue outside). However we later learnt that there was some very restricted access to the museum, and the opening hours were rather random, and subject to late changes. The museum is a fine restorted property, but looks very ouit of place in this run down section of Struga.
