The front desk guy at our riad in Essaouira recommended this beach to us. We took regular public transportation bus to get there, but came back in cab. Peaceful windy beach with lots of sand. Several small restaurants serving mostly fish to choose from. A perfect way to realx

Sorry - maybe I came on a bad day but I don't understand why this beach has got such good reviews.
This place is a prime example of what happens if you get a beautiful beach and don't manage it properly.
The beach was filthy, covered in camel and dog poo and the surrounding dunes were littered with plastic bags and bottles. We watched a stray dog pee on one of the sun loungers. There was no running water and my son had to pay 2dh to use the loo which probably drained straight into the sea. On our short walk down the beach we were continually hassled by people trying to sell us rubbish.
So by all means go to Sidi Kaouki for the surf but don't expect much else.

We (father and 3 students) had 2 wave Surfing courses of some 2 hours
with Ismail, very good teacher in both French and English.
enthousiast and humoristic.
Competitive price, we compared with the other surf schools.
Entrepreneur Ismail can help you with other services, e.g. finding some bikes for making a ride to the Sidi Mbark waterfall (20 km).
We also tried and appreciated the Vietnamese cuisine of the neighbour restaurant. Delicious and big portions.

Kaouki Surf House located 400 meters from our shop can be your home during your stay in Sidi Kaouki. It has double bedrooms or single beds room, kitchens, roof top and garden. We visited Sidi Kaouki in the slow season, mid January, and right off felt welcomed and comfortable in the sleepy beach town. After staying in the busy cities of Marrakech and Essaouira, this place allowed us appreciate the quieter, more relaxed side of Moroccan culture. We loved that we were able to run along the road with ocean views, and explore the beach on our own.
The local people are incredibly friendly, and were welcoming and generous. Delicious food too! We could happily spend our entire day in the lounge and restaurant at the SIdi Kaouki Surf Station- between the rooftop Terrace, the porch overlooking the water, and the cozy indoor Seating and bar.
Great prices on rentals and lessons, making it easy to enjoy the Surfing, and horseback riding that made us want to come here. It's a great venue for group or family events, especially in the off-season when its relatively quiet!
