Inskip Peninsula Recreation Area

We drove as far as we could and then walked along the water's edge to Inskip. The peace and serenity. Threw a line in - caught nothing but breathed the fresh salt air, paddled in the water and watched 4WDs on and off the barges to Fraser Island.

Poona Lake

Reviewed By Progressive T - Tumbulgum, Australia

Poona Lake is located at Cooloola - a short drive from Rainbow Beach. To reach the lake, you have to walk 2.1kms through rainforest from the Bymein Picnic area which is 3k off the highway on an unsealed (Freshwater Road) road. The walk isn’t too difficult and takes about 40 minutes each way. The water in the lake is a brownish red colour because the native tea trees stain the water. There is nothing wrong with it and it is fine to swim in. Poona Lake is made more beautiful by the white sand

Searys Creek

Reviewed By KNewmanTyler - Peregian Beach

I love boardwalks through melaleuca / heath and this one is well maintained and an easy short alternative for anyone who might find the walk and the drive to Lake Poona a challenge. A crystal clear running stream with eels and catfish to spot if you are lucky. A lovely little gem on the way into Rainbow Beach.

Rainbow Beach Tourist Centre

Reviewed By Gary W - Sunshine Coast, Australia

Nice park, very friendly staff and great for a family holiday. The amenities block needs upgrading as there is no ventilation and can get very hot when busy. The pool is great but the water was not very clear, probably due to levels of chemicals not balanced correctly. The sites are very close together but the staff are always there to help with the tractor to help in placing your van. Overall a pleasant park that we have stayed more than once so it must be OK. You would not be dissapointed.
