This rating and review refers to the Domaine de Pont Royal, that includes the golf course, several restaurants, and the Holiday Village operated by Pierre et Vacances on a rental basis, although the company's objective is to sell the apartments and villas, and many have already been sold, although they are then rented out by the management on behalf of the owners. This was our 7th visit of 2 weeks or more over a period of 12 years, on some of which we brought other members of our family. It is constructed as a perched village crowned by a church at the top and it is a miracle of replicative architecture. To all intents and purposes, you are living in a Provencal village dating back 400 years. The core of the village is a discretely concealed underground/multistorey car park that allows access to the level of your apartment and saves the walk that could be up as many as 8 large flights of steps. The apartments come in many shapes and sizes, so that 2 average families can be acommodated in a single unit with adequate privacy. A full range of kitchen equipment is provided, with 4 electric plates, a microwave/grill, electric kettle and coffee-maker, dishwasher and most other items needed for full-self-catering. Various packages include bed linen, towels and toiletries etc, as well as TV, phone, and weekly cleaning. All sorts of fun and facilities for the entire family are offered, some with an appropriate charge, such as baby sitting and children's entertainment programs, horse-riding, archery, acrobatics, swimming (free when pools open), and of course golf. Maintenance of the property and the beautiful Gardens is first rate. Reception is open from 8am to 8pm. There are pubs and restaurants and a gourmet/wine shop on site, supermarket and specialty food stores in nearby Mallemort, and a Tourist Office that can arrange daily bus tours for those without cars ( or who prefer not to use them). The Church is no longer used for religion, but hosts free art Exhibitions and free music Concerts ( largely focused on international chamber music groups) from time to time. We have never come in the peak summer months as the prices escalate as one would expect, but the the resort is an exceptional bargain during the winter, spring and autumn months, although the garage and wi fi are quite expensive at all times of the year. Keep a look out for the many Bargain Offers that come up on the Pierre et Vacances website.

Excellent and helpful staff who knew the area and surroundings extremely well. The cycling leaflets and booklets provided were all excellent and very enjoyable. The recommendations for sightseeing of villages and towns were spot on and we thoroughly enjoyed our visits around the area.

Horseback rinding center in the private estate and resort "Pierre et Vacances" and International Golf of Pont Royal. Open all year. The center offers riding lessons for all levels as well as horse and pony rides in the countryside.
